GwirVol has launched the latest round of their Millennium Volunteers grant scheme.
Organisations have until 13 June 2012 to apply for up to £10,000 to contribute towards volunteer and administration costs.

A student’s logo design has been chosen over those from professional graphic designers and other students to front the Pre-VENT 14-19 initiative.
Pre-VENT 14-19 is a sub-regional initiative, led by Bridgend County Borough Council in collaboration with Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Merthyr Tydfil and Torfaen Councils, which aims to raise the aspirations of 14-19 year olds and support them towards a better future. The initiative receives additional support from the Welsh Government and European Social Fund.
DetailsFunding for projects promoting partnerships between public and private sector and social enterprises
The European Commission’s Directorate-General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion is calling for proposals to carry out pilot projects intended to promote innovative models for cooperation and partnership between public and private sector organisations and social enterprises.
There is €1 million available in total and it is expected that up to five projects will receive funding. The aim is to bring together partnerships to increase the effectiveness of the organisations involved and identify, measure and approve good practices that can be reproduced in other EU countries. These partnerships will contribute to the achievement of the following goals:

The European Commission has issued a new call for project proposals as part of the Culture Programme 2007-2013. This programme aims to encourage and support cultural cooperation within Europe in order to bring the European common cultural heritage to the fore.

Bridgend based Maymax Engineering is one of the latest businesses to benefit from a grant through the Local Investment Fund scheme which uses the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) to support small and medium sized businesses.
With this grant Maymax Engineering was able to purchase a CNC vertical machining centre in order to produce high end components out of metals and plastics.

The Welsh Government has increased the maximum level of funding available through the Tourism Investment Support Scheme from £300,000 to £500,000 with immediate effect.
The Tourism Investment Support Scheme (TISS) helps existing tourism businesses in Wales to upgrade the quality of their facilities. The objective is to stimulate increased demand from new and existing markets.

Eligible organisations have until 30 September 2011 to submit an expression of interest to Round V of the Welsh Government’s Invest to Save Fund. There has been £6.5million allocated to the fund for the 2012/2013 financial year.
The Invest to Save Fund offers financial assistance to local authorities, NHS organisations, further and higher education institutions and other public sector bodies to carry out projects that will improve public service delivery.

The European Commission has published its annual call for project proposals for the Lifelong Learning Programme 2007-2013 with a budget of approximately €1,140million earmarked for new initiatives in 2012.
The Lifelong Learning Programme: education and training opportunities for all aims to enable all people at all stages of their lives to take part in stimulating learning experiences, as well as helping to develop the education and training sector across Europe.
